Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): string trimmer, question pool, troybuilt

Question
Hi Tom,
I have a Troybuilt TB90BC trimmer that will start fine, run fine for a while and
then
stop. Then it won't crank again. Seems to be a fuel system problem, but that's
as
far as I get..I'm handy but know little about engines. The bulb will prime
sometimes and sometimes seems to be pulling air.  I've taken it to the shop
and
they rebuilt the carb. I"m $40 poorer but still don't have reliable trimmer.
Thanks.

Answer
Hello Ben:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool and I can Only Answer Questions from the Question Pool when I am Not Answering Questions here or at the Other Site I Answer Questions at and I am on Vacation and had a Few Minutes to Answer a Few Questions.
From your Description it Sounds like the in Tank Filter May Require Replacing. If you have Checked the Unit for Fire when it Stops Running and have Fire, then Replace the In Tank Filter and the Fuel Lines to the Carburetor. This will Eliminate the Lines as a Cause for the Primer Pulling Air. Go to this Site Addy, http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab and Enter the OEM (Troy Bilt)and the Model Numbers. Now Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
