Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): frozen starter rope, craftsman leaf blower, starter rope

I have a craftsman leaf blower and it ran out of gas. Now I can't pull on the starter rope to restart the engine.It's like frozen, it won't budge an inch.

Answer
Remove the spark plug.  Can you pull the string?

If not, then either the engine is seized or some external part is binding causing you not to be able to pull the rope.

Only way to find out is start removing parts.  With each part remove, try to pull the string.  If you remove all the external engine parts and can't pull the string the engine is seized.

Sometimes the starters just break and cause your problem.
