Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): TORO 268 H pto keeps cutting out, toro toro, toro co

Question
I have a toro 268 h tractor with a 48 inch mowing deck.  back in june i
replaced the battery because it wold not hold a charge, since then the tractor
still won't hold a charge and periodically when mowing the lawn the pto just
stops spinning, i didn't think it was related but it seems that maybe they are.
I have replaced the relays thinking the contacts were dirty but that didn;t
help, sometimes the mower will work fine for over an hour and then other
times it cuts out several times in a five minute period. I checked the electrical
pull on the pto when the battery was charged and it was fine so i don't think
it the electric pto but i'm at a loss...could it be because of the loss from the
power source (batter). any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Don

Answer
Don,

It is very possible the power loss is causing this problem Toro Equipment Uses a specific type of battery because it maintains a specific gravity in the cells where a genric battery has a less specific gravity the difference is measured by Gravity Toro Batts are route specific to +/- 30Milliamps  Generic batts are wide range specific from +/- .5MA to 50MA so with this difference in mind alway replace with Genuine toro parts.
Another solution I can offer you is since Toro changes design so rapidly you may want to go to www.toro.com and use the customer service number listed USA 1-888-384-9939
