Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet battery, cub cadet 1046, tractor system

Question
I left my key with the lights on my cub cadet 1046.  It would not start that afternoon.  I tried to jump the battery with my car.  1st it turned over.  I turned it off and jumped it again, then instead of starting it made a funny noise when I turned the key.  Can I just replace the battery or have I damaged it beyond the battery.  Please help

Answer
Asahn,

Replace your battery is the second Option try checking the Main fuse for the electrical system all you may have done is blow this fuse read your owners manual on fuse location and amp rating replace it as needed its not advised to use your cars battery to jump a dead lawn tractor battery because the car has a higher voltage output then your 12V tractor system I would suggest you purchase a Jump Box from your local auto parts store and from now on use tha to jump a dead battery
