Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite vac attack 2 run problems, internal combustion engine, fuel stabilizer

Question
QUESTION: My problem is that the blower will start, but will not pick up any power once the choke goes off. As you press the trigger it starts to bog down, and the more you press the worse it gets until it stalls. The model number is UT08542B, and the serial number is AXJ0251498 build date of 01-25-06

ANSWER: After checking the obvious like, the spark plug, air filter, and fuel supply, you will want to check the spark arrest at the exhaust making sure it is not carboned up or blocked. make sure the fuel filter in the tank on the end of the supply hose is not dirty. Make sure nono of the fuel lines are pinched or restricted. I would think the carburetor picked up some dirt or such, and needs a good clean out if not a rebuild with new diaphragms.

QUESTION: I will check these things again, its just hard to believe it could be that with only about 5 hrs of use. Thanks for your response.

Answer
It may very well only have 5 hrs use on it, but it is 2 1/2 yrs old, and fuel begins to turn with out fuel stabilizer after just 30 days. I can gum up a carb after only 5 minutes of operation if I don't put it up at the end of the season correctly with stabilizer. One of the worse things for any internal combustion engine is lack of use. I would have to go with my original thought that the carb is gummed up or dirty. Some of the previous things I mentioned I would have not said if you had mentioned it had only 5 hrs use.....Tom
