Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda tire replacement, replacement tires, rear tires

Question
The rear tires on my older Honda have wornout.  To save $$, I purchased replacement tires (tread only), rather than the entire wheel.  Now I'm not sure how to get the new tire around the wheel (the old tire comes off easy).

Answer
Place the tires in sunlight for seveal hours to heat them.  This will soften them and ease installation.

To be honest the tread mounting is a real pain.  So much so that we no longer do it as it takes too much labor.

A press really helps to install the tread but you can replace them with brute force.

Get the tires warm, then use some soapy water to aid installation.  Let the soapy water dry for several hours before using the tires.

Let me know if this helps.
