Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): leaf blowers, leaf blowers, blue spark

i have a mcculloch leaf blower, it has an run and off switch, sometimes it fails to turn off the leaf blower,now it want start, can the switch keep it from starting?

Yes it certainly can. It will cut off your spark, and ground it out, the same way it shuts it off. Check for spark at the plug, by removing it, and placing the plug wire back on it, then ground the base to the engine block as you pull the rope. is there a good bright blue spark?. If no, then remove the switch and try putting the two wires together, and then apart, and check for spark....If spark is then present your needing to replace the switch. Just have to be careful sometimes the switch can work now and then and really make it hard to figure....Tom
