Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Oily air filter, internal passages, honda mower

Question
My son accidently added fuel with oil additive (reserved for the leaf blower) to
our new Honda mower engine (160 cc OHV); I drained the bad gas but some
of the oil/gas mixture was in the gas line and cycled through the engine; the
mower blew out a lot of smoke, briefly and was running fine for a while, but
it eventually became apparent that the air filter became oil-soaked and was
running poorly;  a new air filter solved the running problem but is there
something else possibly wrong?

Answer
Hello Gary:

Sometimes the Oil in the Fuel Mix has Trouble being Pulled throught the Jet on a Gas Carburetor and the Carburetor May have to be Disassembled and Blown Out with Compressed Air to Remove the Oil from the Internal Passages if the Carburetor Does Not Operate Correctly After the Correct Gas has been Run through the Carburetor for 10 to 15 Minutes. The Fuel Mix May Foul the Spark Plug Also. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
