Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drive Belt, drive pulley, engine shaft

Question
How do I replace the drive belt on a Simplicity Hydro 15, model #1692609? Is the bolt on the main pulley reverse thread?

Answer
Hello Mike:

Go to this Site Addy, http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab and Enter the OEM and the Model Numbers. Now Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. The Engine Pulley Mount Bolt (holds the PTO on the Engine Shaft) Loosens by Turning it the Same Direction that the Engine Turns. It is Not a Reverse Thread. Once the PTO has been Removed, then the Drive Pulley for the Transaxle is Accessible and the Belt Should come Off. On Some Models the Transaxle Drive Pulley Must be Loosened and Lowered to Clear the Belt Guard. There is Usually an Allen Lock that Holds the Pulley in Place. Loosen/Remove this Allen Lock and the Pulley will then Slide on the Crankshaft. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
