Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engines in tillers and mowers, shaft size, question pool

Can you switch the engine from a lawn mower with one from a tiller.  I have a tiller that seems to be burning a lot of oil and has lost it power.  I have several old mowers that run and wanted to know if they could be used interchangeably?

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. If Both the Mower and Tiller have the Same Shaft Size and Direction (Vertical or Horizontal), then they can Interchange.
