Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Husquvarna YTH2448 Lawn Tractor, switch jumper, jumper wire

Hi, Scott--

I have a lawn tractor, Husquvarna YTH2448 with about 35 hours on it.  It stalls whenever I a) slide it into a gear other than neutral, whether forward or reverse, and then take my foot off the brake; b) attempt to engage mowing blades.  Actually, sometimes it will sputter and go a little bit without the blades engaged, but sometimes it backfires and just stalls.  I have replaced oil filter, oil, plugs, air filter and gas filter.  I suspect something in the gas line...but don't know how to access it.  Also, I notice that the battery needle drops dramatically when I attempt to engage blades...but it doesn't make sense to me that they would require battery power to engage...maybe I'm wrong.  Any suggestions?

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool and I can Only Answer Question from the Question Pool when I am Not Answering Questions here or at the Other Site I am Located At. The YTH2448 is the Series Model Numbers. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers are Usually Located Under the Seat on a Sticker or Tag on the Body. However, from your Description it Sounds like the Seat Safety Switch is Bad. The Following is the Instruction File for Checking the Seat Safety Switch. **Check the Seat Safety Switch. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHECKING THE SAFETY SWITCHES IS JUST THAT!!! FOR CHECKING ONLY. I NEVER Suggest a Mower be Operated with a Safety Device or Switch Disconnected or Bypassed. Now. On Some Model Mowers you can Simply Unplug the Safety Switch from the Harness. On Other Models you have to Place a Jumper Wire Between the Harness Terminals (on the 4 Post Switch Jumper from Same Color Wire to Same Color Wire). The Seat Safety is Showing No One is Seating in the Seat when the Clutch or Blades are Engaged.**  If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
