Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 19.5 HP BRIGGS /STRATTON FUEL PROBLEM, hp briggs, briggs stratton

Question
I HAVE A 19.5 HP BRIGGS MODEL 42E707/TYPE 2631E1 CODE 9905215B WILL NOT START FUEL PROBLEM I CAN PU  FUEL DOWN THE CARB IT WILL FIRE AND RUN FOR A SHORT TIME THE CARB AND FUEL PUMP WAS REBUILT AND FUEL LINE IS CLEAR. I AM NOT PULLING FUEL INTO THE CARB ?

Answer
I believe the fuel pump is a pulse pump on that model.  Meaning that there is a fitting in the side of the engine and a pluses line going to the fuel pump.  Is that line and fitting in good shape?  Be sure it is,

It sounds like it is running the fuel out in the carb bowl and then running out of fuel.  Then you have to wait till it fills.  Could be a sticking inlet needle or float hinge to tight on the pin.  Sounds like more of a fuel pump problem than a carb problem.  Hope this helps.
