Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD Gator - no spark, jd dealer, as24

QUESTION: John;RE:question about JD Gator I asked you on 7/1/08.IT has compression,it's getting fuel to throttle bores(not excess)but it only has spark for couple cranks then none.The carb is spotless and not flooding.It won't start at all now.Do you have ignition system wiring diagram or can you explain how to troubleshoot.Code/fd620d-as24  e/no-fd620d346543  Thanks,John

The Breakdowns for the Engine and Mower Both have Electrical Schematics. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. QUESTION: Hi again John,I was able to spot the ignition parts on sites you suggested-looks like a pulsing coil(s),two ign.coils,and a module(ignitor).I'm not familiar with this ignition system and would like a step by step troubleshooting sequence so I can pinpoint which part is at fault.Thanks again for your help.John

Since this Unit has an Igniter and Coils; On JD Mowers; Remove the Igniter/Module and the Coil and have the Local JD Dealer Test them. A Coil and Ign Module/Igniter Tester are Required.
