Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Power washer, honda power washer, pressure relief valve

Question
Hello Mr. Bridgers.  I replaced the hose and trigger on my Chore Master Honda power washer (used at home) and now the engine stops when I release the trigger. It didn't do that before the hose/trigger replacement.  Is this a new safety measure or is there something I have inadvertently changed?  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Sally:

This is Usually Caused when the Relief Valve Inside the Pump Sticks Closed. Under Normal Operating Conditions when the Trigger is Released, the Pressure Relief Valve Stops the Pressure from going to the Hose and Cycles Until you are Ready for Pressure Again. When the Pressure Relief Valve Sticks Closed, the Engine Cannot Handle the Pressure Applied to it Due to the Pump Trying to Supply Pressure to the Nozzle and Quits. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
