Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Rich and will not take throttle, fuel level, carburetor

Question
I just got a rider with a 12.5hp. It starts and will even clear out and run normal with the throttle pulled back. It's when you throttle up it belches black smoke. I've pinched the incomming fuel line and had it clear up and run good but see
ms to only run for a few minutes and stalls. It will restart in a few minutes but be rich again. I've cleaned the carb and checked the keyway. Carb has no fuel level adjustment. It just has a plastic float and a needle with a pin that floats in and out just a bit. Am I on the right track or could this be the sign of a bad coil? All help welcomed. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Gordon:

By Regulating the Gas to the Carburetor and having the engine Run Properly and then Describing to me the Carburetor, I Suggest you Purchase a New Carburetor. The Plastic Carburetors are Usually a Throwaway Carburetor. If you have Soaked it Overnight and the Engine is Still Flooding as you Described, then a New Carburetor is the Only Way to Correct this Problem. The Main Jet is Worn and Allowing the Engine to Draw too Much Gas into the Cylinder and is Flooding the Engine. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
