Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Re: Troy Bilt Trimmer Leaking Gas, connects 2, weedeater

Question
Tom,

This is a new question because it wouldn't allow me to post another follow-up to the old question.

I did switch the lines but the weedeater is still leaking. I can leave it out over night and when I go out in the morning the muffler will be wet and the gasket that sits above the muffler and under the carb will be wet. It does crank now but goes dead when I let off of the trigger, I'm thinking the screw may just need adjusted for that. Do you know of anywhere online where I can see how the lines are hooked up? Also, is the small black adapter type piece that connects 2 lines just an adapter or is it usually on a certain line?

The model and parent part number is TB25CS41BDT25C063 and the serial number is 305D1410813.

Answer
I would feel very strongly the needle and seat in the carburetor is to blame. It is the float needles job to stop the gas from flowing into the carb once the right amount is in the reserve bowl. But I have trouble sticking with that due to it being a new carb. This is sometimes so hard to do without the piece of equipment right in front of you. The only other explanation to it over filling with gas is that one of the lines is a feed and one is a vent, if the vent is blocked or going to the wrong place the carb can't breath, and flooding will occur. I tried to find reference to the unit, but seems that the model number you provide is incorrect, can you try looking it over once again and furnishing me with the model number.......Tom
