Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): broken Exhaust Manifold, yr warranty, tecumseh engine

Question
QUESTION: I have a tecumseh engine model # ov490ea Serial # 208003b
with a broken exhaust manifold.  I need to find repalcement parts and the price I have searched my manual extensively but cant locate the proper part # to search internet.  I am contacting dealer tomorrow.....is this something that should be covered under warranty.  I am starting year 2 with my mower.....it has 3 yr warranty.

Thanks

ANSWER: Hello Bill:

The Exhaust Manifold should be Covered Under Warranty. For Most Homeowners the Warranty is Usually 2 to 5 Years Depending on the Engine Model and OEM of the Engine. Commercial Use is Usually 6 Months to 2 Years Depending on the Model and OEM. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck

QUESTION: John,

My mower finally left for the shop tonight after many calls and a rather angry visit to the dealer where I bought it.  I was at the dealership today and they ordered a exhaust manifold gasket and pipe for a 16 hp tecumseh motor.  Will this fit my mower or am I going to have to wait for parts again???

Answer
Hello Again Bill:

Yes this Should Fit your Mower. I am Sorry for the Problem you had with the Dealer. It is Hard Sometimes to Get Warranty Work Performed or Even Parts Under Warranty from Some Dealers. Please Do Not Think that All Dealers are the Same. Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems be SMALL ONES and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks Again.

Best Wishes and Good Luck
