Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mixed fuel in the gas only system, carburetor jets, craftsman lt2000

Question
John,
I have a Craftsman LT2000 riding mower with a Kohler Pro 19hp "Courage" motor, model SV590S.  The other day I ran out of gas and borrowed from a neighbor.  Not until the mower stalled about 20 minutes later did I realize that his gas can contained an oil-gas mixture he had for another piece of equipment.  I have since replaced the gas filter, the oil filter and the spark plug.  I can get the motor to sputter but it will not fully turn over.  Can you recommend additional steps I can take to resolve this problem.  Thanks in advance.
Phil

Answer
Hello Phil:

Have you Flushed the Carburetor or Sprayed the Carburetor Out with Compressed Air. The Internal Passages of the Carburetor and the Jets are Usually too Small for Fuel Mix Oil to be Metered Properly through them. The Oil from the Fuel Mix May Still be Restricting the Carburetor Jets. Compressed Air or Washing the Carburetor in Carburetor Cleaner is Sometimes the Only way to Remove this from the carburetor. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp and Select Enter as Guest. Now Select the Thumbnail of the Engine Catalog you Wish to View.
