Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere Z Trac Mower problem, kawasaki engine, spec numbers

Hi John,

I have a John Deere Z Trac 757 with the Kawasaki engine.
This unit ran great until yesterday when in the middle of cutting my grass it started to miss and lose power.
I parked it overnight and tried again this morning and it runs great for five minutes and then does the same thing again. I changed the plugs,fuel filter and checked the air filter and then started to cut grass again until I hit the five minute mark at which time it started to loose power and backfire once more.
I am getting a little frustrated as it has less than 100 hours on it and I don't want to take it to the dealership and spend a pile of $$.
Could it be the coil?
