Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ariens ride on, electrical schematics, wire colors

Question
I have just replaced the engine on my ariens 912011,previously a 6hp tecumseh electric start, new engine is a tecumsehov 195 ea 7hp electric start. The problem is that I cant seem to connect the wiring so that the safety interlocks are operational. I have connected the interlock wiring to the green wire from engine and mower will only run with ignition key in off position when I turn it to on the motor stops.I have not put the battery into the system because I am not sure how it will react,or if the charging circuit is appropriate. Any help will be appreciated.

Answer
Hello David:

The Wire to the Coil is Grounding in the On Position of the Switch and is Not Grounded in the Off Position of the Switch. This is Exactly Reverse of the Way the System Should Operate. Even with the Safety System Not Wired Correctly, the Engine Should Not Start with the Ign in the Off Position. You can View a Breakdown of the Mower at this Site Addy; http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. The Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Ariens) and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Select the Electrical File. The Electrical Schematics for Ariens are the Best I have Ever Seen. They Even Tell the Wire Colors. You should be Able to Trace the Wires Using the Schematic and Correct the Problem. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
