Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn mower wont start, lawn mower wont start, spec numbers

Question
I have an old lawn mower, it's a Snapper v212 i think. it's a pretty old mower but it was running well. It wasn't unusual for it do die when i pushed it too fast threw thick tall grass. It did that and then i tiped it up so i could clean the grass that was stuck under it, and when i tried to start it again but the engine wouldn't turn and the cord wouldn't pull. I thought it might be low in oil so i put some in but the cord still wouldn't pull. I forced the engine to turn by pushing the blades, hoping the oil would work it's way threw the engine, i didn't really think it was a good idea, but it seemed to work because now i can pull the cord and the engine turns like it used to, but it wont start, it sounds like it wants to and putters a little, but doesn't start. Was turning the blades a bad idea? and is there anything you suggest might help? thanks.

Answer
Hello Brandon:

What is the Engine Compression? Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine or the Mower Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Engine Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. Thanks.
