Hi Mike:

The Only Other Cause for the Coil to Not Fire the Plug is a Bad Shut Off Wire. The Way the Misfire Jumped from One Cylinder to the Other is Not Easily Explained. Myself and Another Mechanic Tried Several Different Combination to Recreate the Misfire Moving from One Cylinder to the Other, with the Original Cylinder having a Bad Coil. Other than a Bad Wire (one that was Leaking from the Insulation) were we Able to have the Cylinder Misfire the Plug as you Described. We did have the Usual Misfire Using a Burnt Valve, Wrong Valve Clearance, and a Leaking Intake Gasket. I Hope this Helps you Locate the Cause for the Miss. When you Locate the Cause, Please Let me Know. I and the Other Questioners will Find the Information Helpful in the Future. You can Ask One of the Other Experts for Assistance Also. They May have More Experience with this Type of Problem. Thanks Again for Using All Experts. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

QUESTION: Are you referring to a specific wire?Idont have any schematics to go on.Thank you for your help.People like you that are helping us here on earth are storing rewards in heaven.

Answer
Hi Mike:

The Wire is the One that Connects to the Coil/Magneto under the Blower Housing. This is a Ground Wire. There should be a Schematic at the IPL Breakdown Site. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
