Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Yamaha golf cart, blown head gasket, parts catalogs

Question
I have a 1999 Yamaha golf cart with a G16A, over a period of two weeks it lost top and bottom end power and now it will not run at all. I've cleaned the carburetor, cleaned the air filter, drained the gas tank, replaced the fuel filter and spark plug(good spark) and will still not even budge. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Hello Jeremiah:

Did you Soak the Carburetor when you Cleaned it? If No, then the Carburetor can Still be the Problem. You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.yamahagolfcarsofca.com/Golf.html and Select Parts and Accessories. Now Select "Click to View Yamaha Parts Catalogs". Now Select your Year Model and Select Golf Car. Now Select the Year Model Again. Now Continue Until you Locate the Breakdown of your Model (AT, ect). It May be a Blown Head Gasket Between the Push Tube Galley and the Compression Chamber that is Slowly Getting Worse. What is the Compression? Check the Valve Clearances. If the Valve Clearance get too Wide, then you can have this Problem. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
