Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tuff Torq K66 Transmission, trouble shooting guide, service distributor

Question
I have a Murray lawn mower with a K66 transmission s/n: 000501 which is about 9 years old.

The tractor works ok until it warms up (after about an half hour of use) and at that point it slowly looses all power until it finally will not go all. As soon as it cools down it runs ok. All fluid levels are at the proper levels and there has been no loss of transmission oil.

I assume that the transmission needs rebuilt.  Is there a rebuild kit available for this model, and where can I buy this kit.  Also, would you consider this a repair that your average mechanical Joe can repair on his own and are there detailed instructions available to assist in this process.

Answer
Hello Tim:

You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.tufftorqservices.com/cgi-bin/tts.storefront and Select Enter Site. Now Select Service. Now Select Catalog/Order from the List on the Left of this Page. Now Select your Transaxle Model. Now Select your Transaxle from the List Provided and then Select your Exact Transaxle from the Next List Provided. They Also have a Trouble Shooting Guide. I Have Purchased Parts to Rebuild these Transaxles, but have Not Heard of a Kit. Usually you Must Disassemble the Transaxle and Purchase the Required Components Individually. You will have to Order the Parts from an Authorized Service Distributor. You will See the Distributor List on the Welcome Page. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
