Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): cub cadet 1030, appropriate boxes, type numbers

Question
This is a follow up question to your most recent answer to my question. I said the mower runs until it gets hot then quits and will not start.I tried leaving the gas cap off but no help. I ran a compression test and got 80psi. When I said it would quit running when hot and not start, the motor will barely turn over when hot. After it cools down it will turn over fine and start. When I installed the mag/coil I guessed at the gag. What should it be? The model # 28d707,type 0123-01 and code # 9309084d. I appreciate your help.

Answer
Hello Paul:

Thanks for the Further Explanation of the Problem with this Engine. If it is Turning 3/4 Turn and then Dragging for 1/4 Turn, then the Valve Require Resetting. If the Engine is Dragging for Complete Revolutions, then I have to Ask; Is the Oil Level Proper? Is the Engine Cooling Fins Clean? Are the Cooling Blades on the Flywheel Clear and is the Space Under the Blower Housing Clear? Is the Muffler and Exhaust Clear and Exhausting Properly? You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ... and Enter the Model Numbers (28d707) and Type Numbers (0123) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO. Then Select Download PDF. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
