Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stihl 025, straight shooter, dealer locater

Question
John.....I love the fact you are a straight shooter, John... and a man of the Lord.....I have a stihl 025 that quits after it is run for a while then will not start until it has cooled off then will start and rum again..... it isn't consistant but often will not start when hot.....but always starts the next day and often will run all day.....any suggestions? God bless, Delmer

Answer
Hello Delmer:

Thanks for the Good Words. From your Description, it Sounds like the Ign Module/Coil is Heating Up and Shorting Out. This Causes the Spark Plug Not to Fire. When the Engine Cools, then Ign Module/Coil Cools and Opens the Short and the Plug will Fire Again. Have you Checked the Exhaust Port and Muffler for Carbon Blockage. If the Exhaust Port or Muffler are Restricted, the Engine Runs Hotter and will Cause the Ign Module/Coil to Short Out from the Higher than Normal Engine Temperature. Stihl Offers No Online Support, Other than a Dealer Locater. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
