Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine dies when engaging elec PTO, bolens, riding mower

Question
Hi,
I have a Husky LTH 130 riding mower that was dying when letting the clutch/brake out. I managed to break in half the clutch safety switch when getting it out, but have since put it back together with tape and I also taped the button down. It drives around fine now. The problem now is that the engine dies as soon as I pull the electrical PTO button. I have jumpered the seat switch to get that out of the equation and now am out of ideas. Basically, the mower acts like I am shutting the key off when I pull the PTO button (just like it did with the bad clutch switch). I have had the deck off, cleaned everything, blades and pulleys spin fine.
Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello Jon:

Husky is a Bolens which is Manufactured by MTD. The PTO Switch May be Bad. Some Models have a Relay that will Cause this Problem Also. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers are Usually Under the Seat on the Body. Thanks.
