Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): motor swap - wiring help, kohler engine, jumper wire

Question
I've swapped a Kohler motor(mod #CV15S, spec # 41567) into a White riding lawn mower chassis. I took a B&S (mod #282707, type 0122 01, code 94012 74 D) out of the mower. I have the Kohler in and running, starting it with the ignition key. I can only shut it down by pulling my jumper wire from the carb solenoid. Can you help me with the wiring? I would like to know what each of the wires coming from the Kohler engine are for. I know that one of them is for ac power from the mower it was in previously and it won't be used in this application, but what are the others? Which one charges the battery, which one goes to ignition to shut it off and run accessories, etc.  Also, on the mower there is a wire with a diode on it. Is this the wire that charges the battery? I didn't know what a diode was until I started this project so I have at least learned something. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Answer
Hello Bill:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of Both Engines at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and for Briggs, Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers (first 4 digits Only). Example: 282707-0122. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. For Kohler, Enter the Model and Spec Numbers (CV15S-41567). Depending on the AMP of the Stator/Alternator, you May Not Require the Diode. The 1 Wire you have Not Connected or have Connected Wrong is the Engine/Coil/Ign Module/Magnetron Shut Off Wire. This Wire is Connected to the Coil and to the Ign Switch. This Wire May Connect to the Throttle Control Bracket or Go Straight to the Coil/Magnetron/Ign Module. I See the Briggs Engine Uses a Voltage Regulator and the Kohler Engine Does Not. There Should be 4 Wires on the Kohler Engine. Two Wires are Together from the Stator, One from the Carburetor Solenoid and the Other is from the Coil/Ign Module/Magnetron. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
