Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumesh 35 - cuts out when cold, cold question, spec numbers

Question
QUESTION: I have a tecumesh 35 engine on the lawnmower.

I have problems getting it to run until it has warmed up. I start it, it runs for a while, then cuts out. Runing times get longer and longer until it warms up. it then runs fine. Any ideas how to rectify the owners info is almost non existent.

Thanks for your help

ANSWER: Hello Colin:

Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. Since this is a Tecumseh Engine, I have a PDF Site Addy that May Assist you Also. http://www.tecumsehpower.com/CustomerService/BSI.pdf  . If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Answer
Hello Again Colin:

I Did Not Expect it to Assist you for this Problem. I Usually Give Anyone that has a Tecumseh the Site Ady for the General Manual. It May Help at the Time or Help in the Future. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers (LEV80-333010B). Then Select your Model and Download the File for Online Viewing. This is Going to be a Hard Cause to Locate. When was the Carburetor Last Soaked and Cleaned? If the Carburetor is Dirty, this will Sometimes Happen. Rare, but I have Seen it Happen a Few Times. What is the Compression Cold? What is the Compression Hot? If the Compression is too Low when Cold it will Cause the Problem you Described. It May be the Valves Require Adjusting or Even Reseating. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
