Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 10 HP Briggs Starter rope wont pull, hp briggs, starter rope

Question
QUESTION: I have a Generac 5000 watt generator with a 10 HP engine that is about 11 years old. I recently tried to start it for the first time in two years. I pulled a few times and it didn't fire so I sprayed starting fluid in the carb and pulled out the plug and sprayed some in there. Now when I try to pull the cord it will not pull. It act like it is seized. What cn it be?
Thanks

ANSWER: Hello Greg:

Does the Engine Turn Freely when the Plug is Removed? Did it Pull when you First Did this and Did the Engine Try to Start and then Lock Up? Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thank you for responding. The generator is a Generac SVP-5000. The motor is a Briggs 10HP and the model begins with 196 but it is no longer readable.
The engine will not turn when the plug is removed. It will not budge when pulling the rope. When I first tried to start it, it did turn over, but never fired. After about 10 pulls I tried spaying the starter fluid in to the carb and the head. After that it just locked up on about the third or fourth pull. It never seemed to fire.
Thanks so much for your help.

Answer
Hello Again George:

Remove the Cylinder Head and Check the Cylinder for Gouging in the Cylinder Wall. What Does the Cylinder Wall Look Like? Is it Smooth like Glass or Rough and have Scratches in it? You can View a Breakdown of the Pressure Washer at this Site Addy; http://www.pressureparts.com/Manuals.aspx and Select the   Logo of the Manufacturer of your Pressure Washer. Then Select the Model of your Pressure Washer. Thanks.
