Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): toro lawnmower sputters while running, personal pace, epa rule

Question
I HAVE A TORO PERSONAL PACE LAWN MOWER WITH BOS, MODEL 20076. IT'S BRAND NEW AND I RAN IT FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY. SEEMS TO RUN FINE, BUT WHEN IDLING AND THE BLADE IS DISENGAGED THE ENGINE SPUTTERS LIKE IT HAS A BAD PLUG. ITS NOT TOO BAD, BUT SHOULD BE RUNNING BETTER THAN THIS SINCE ITS NEW, I TOOK THE SPARK PLUG OUT AND LIGHTLY SANDED THE CONTACTS JUST TO SEE IF THERE WAS BUILDUP CAUSING A PROBLEM BUT IT STILL RUNS THE SAME WAY. MAYBE BUY A NEW SPARK PLUG? OR CLOSE THE GAP A LITTLE ON THE EXISTING PLUG. I EXPECTED A SMOOTHER RUN FROM A $460.OO LAWNMOWER. ANY SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS.

Bring it back to where you purchased it,if you change anything or mess with the mower they can void the warranty.

What is sounds like the carburetor is needling adjustments and there is no way to adjust this because of the EPA Rule of a non polluting equipment.Tey may have to replace the carburetor,or the plugs. It is best that they do this while it is still under warranty.
