Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): snow blower, craftsman snowblower, air mixture

Hi i have a craftsman snowblower, the machine sounds like it runs okay except when its running it seems to surge and if i open the throttle all the way it stalls out,also when i stop using the snow blower,it leaks gas untill the tank is empty, i have replaced the float pin,spring,and a small round some sort of  a gasket that is beveled on one end , sorry i dont know what it is called,i have done this twice and it still reacts the same way, please im in chicago and the snow has been brutal here any help would be great.

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Unit, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Sears Numbers are Similar to the Following Example. 123.123456. Did you Soak the Carburetor in Carburetor Cleaner? If No, then the Carburetor is Still Dirty. The Small Round Gasket you are Talking About; Did it Look like a Flat O-Ring and was Installed where the Needle Valve Goes Into the Carburetor? Does this Carburetor have Air Mixture Screws? The Model Numbers will Answer some of these Questions. From your Description it SOunds like the Carburetor Float is Sticking. Thanks.
