Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Next Problem for Yardman Snowblower, drive shaft, battery problem

Question
Hi John

Well, the new frcition ring fixed the drive train problem - more or less, might have to revisit the setup around the drive shaft but now... the engine has taken to conking out.  If I leave it sit a bit it will eventually restart but then it dies again after a very short time.  I am wondering if it might be a battery problem, but I don't see anything in the manual.  I did have it run out of gas today and inadvertently ,left the throttle on full... started after I gassed it up, but not for long.  Left it sit, with the electric starter plugged in for about 30 min and it started again - but  died abut 2 minutes later... ???? Help!

thanks

Rob

Answer
Hello Rob:

It Sounds like the Carburetor May have Picked Up Trash from the Carburetor Bowl. Make Sure the Gas is Free Flowing to the Carburetor Inlet Port. If it is, then Run the Engine Until it Stops Again. Now, Remove the Air Filter and Pour a Small Amount of Gas (1oz) into the Carburetor Throat. Does the Engine Start and then Quit? If Yes, then the Carburetor DID Pick Up Trash and Requires Cleaning. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
