Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ariens ST524 Snowthrower, engine model type, blade speed

Question
A friend of mine gave me his old snowthrower. It runs great, but only throws snow a few feet. Wet snow, forget it! Is there an adjustment I can make to the blade speed or idle or something?? Please help. Thanks Aaron

Answer
Hello Aaron:

The Following Depends on the Model Engine you have on this Unit. If the Engine Speed is Slow and Requires Increasing, then Locate the Governor Control Spring. This Spring Goes from the Throttle Control Bracket to the Governor Arm. On Some Models this Spring is Attached to the Throttle Control Bracket on a Tab that can be Bent to Tighten the Pill the Spring Puts on the Governor Arm. Tightening/Shortening this Spring Increases Engine Speed. Send me the Engine Model, Type/Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
