Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnboy - no spark, coil tester, assembly drawings

Question
Lawnboy Model 10314 Ser 7900398 Is there any way to test the ignition coil when removed from the mower with a multimeter? I've disconnected the kill circuit while the coil was still on the mower but still had no spark. Thank you.

Answer
Hello Charles:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm?xCaller=LawnBoy and Select Start Parts Viewer. Then Enter the Model Numbers (10314) and Click Search. Then Select View Assembly Drawings. Then Select the Component you Wish to View. According to the Breakdown, this has the Solid State Ign Coil. If you Disconnected the Shut Off Wire from the Coil and Had No Fire to the Plug, then the Coil is Bad. The Solid State Ign Coil can Not be Tested with a Meter. A Coil Tester is Required but Not Needed if you Tested it on the Engine. Ehen the Magnets on the Flywheel Cross the Coil Pickup, the Coil Will Fire Unless the Internal Ign Diode is Bad. Replace the Coil. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
