Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowblower Engine Problem, spec numbers, series numbers

Question
Evening John,

I have a Toro CCR 3000 (Egts 5.0 hp) snowblower and I am having engine troubles.  It was running more than fine, but gas had been added, and I do believe that too much oil was mixed into the gas.  The motor will start however, once the throttle is engaged it will chug and die out.  I have let it run for a while and added gas alone, but I am wondering if this could be something fixed by changing the spark plug.  If so, might you know which it needs to be as well as where to access the spark plug?

Thank you,
-Mike

Answer
Hello Michael:

Is this a 2 Cycle Engine? Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. The Numbers you Sent me are the Series Numbers. You can Use this Site Addy for Assistance in Locating the Model Numbers on this Unit; https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/help.cfm?xCaller=Toro and Follow the Instructions Provided. Since this is a Tecumseh Engine, I have a PDF Site Addy that May Assist you Also. http://www.tecumsehpower.com/CustomerService/BSI.pdf  . Thanks.
