ANSWER: Hello Bill:

Sorry for the Delay. High Winds have Downed Trees and my Electric is Out and the Darn Generator Coil went Bad. lol  Its been a Fun Past 2 Days. I Looked the Belt Cross Reference Information Up for you. The Belt (JD # M44498 should be the Blade Drive Belt) is a 1/2" X 60" Belt and the Belt (JD # M49920 should be the Deck Drive Belt from Engine) is a 1/2" X 99" Belt. I am Not Sure what you are Calling the Brake Levers. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H and Enter the Model Numbers (68) and Click Find. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. You can Most Likely Locate the Component Faster than I can Using the Breakdown. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Hello Again Bill:

I have been Studying the Breakdown for your Mower. Look at the 34" Deck. This Deck has 2 Blades that are 17 1/4" Long. The M49920 Belt (1/2" X 99") is the Blade Belt for this Deck. The M82167 Belt (1/2" X 50.8; a 1/2" X 50.5" belt will Work) is the Traction Drive Belt. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thanks John, the 34" deck is the right one. Also the brake lever is correct, M49044- I'll make that one out of Pacific Yew wood which is the toughest on the coast.Save $$$$$$$ Hope you solve your generator coil problem, if power is not on yet. Here in Sayward many of us have generators too: our power goes off numerous times in the winter, usually trees have fallen onto the lines between S and Campbell River, 45 miles.   Bill

Answer
Hi Bill:

Thanks for the Update. I have 2 Generators, but I Did Not Think I would be Using 1 for the House and 1 for the Shop at the Same Time. LOL So Much for my Planning Ahead. Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems be SMALL ONES and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks Again.

Best Wishes and Good Luck
