Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears LT1000 blade lock, shaft assembly, lt1000

Question
John,

I have a Sears LT1000 riding mower model #917-271634.  The blades have a star shaped hole that fit over a star shaped extrusion under the deck.  These extrusions have wore down flush.  How do I remove and replace the extrusions...if indeed i actually need to.

Regards,

David
