Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman snowblower, craftsman snowblower, shear pin

Question
I'm trying to fix my dads 2004 craftsman snowblower, 9hp, 29 inch cut. It has a "powertrain" issue. She starts up no problem, blades work fine ex.. but it does not go into gear. I thought the cable might be loose, stretched out so I tightened it, but it won't move when the clutch is engaged.
Any help? To get into the gear box, it seems like you have to take the entire thing apart! Hoping for an easy solution but not epxecting!
Thanks
