Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda hs70 snowblower, honda 4518, snow blowers

Question
john- i'm having a little trouble with my snow blower.  sometimes when i put the snowblower in 1st or 2nd gear the blower doesn't move. if i move the lever to neutral and move it around a bit and then put it in 1st or 2nd gear it works perfectly.  the snowblower moves in 3rd gear all the time. the friction disk was replaced last year.  any ideas?  your fix on my honda 4518 tractor steering was right on.  thanks so much.  -steve

Answer
Hello Steve:

Thanks for the Good Words. I am Pleased I was Able to Assist you in Repairing your Steering. From your Description, it Sounds like there is a Problem Inside the Transmission. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Then Select Snow Blowers. The Scroll Down and Select your Blower. The Clutch Asembly May have Wear. The Shifter Fork May Require New Bushings. There May be a Bad Bearing. The Best Suggestion I can Make is to Use the Snow Blower Unitl the Weather Braks. Then Remove the Transmission and Disassemble the Transmission and Reolace Any Worn PArts and Bearings. The Drive Disc Usually is Not the cause of this Problem. It is Usually a Bad Bearing or a Bad Internal Clutch Assembly. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
