Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): snow blower traction cable, friction wheel, left hand corner

Question
QUESTION: Where does the spring end of the traction drive cable, hook up to on a mtd series 600, 10 hp two stage snow thrower/blower?

ANSWER: Can you send me the blower model number, xxx-xxxxxx, located on a sticker.  I need the model number so I can look in the IPL to see where the spring connects.

Without looking at the parts diagram, I would guess the spring connects to the idler pulley arm.  The idler pulley is the pulley and moves back and fourth to apply/release belt tension to engage the drive system.
Send me the model number and I can tell you exactly where the spring connects.

QUESTION: The model# is 316E660G000

Answer
The spring connects to the lower left hand corner of the friction wheel bracket.  You will have to remove the lower cover on the bottom of the snowblower to access the bracket.

You can go to MTDProducts.com web site and click on the "Use our detailed parts finder" to see the parts drawing.  Enter your model number and you should be able to find the parts list.
Let me know if this helps.
