Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): stihl brushcutter, stihl fs 80, carby

Question
Hi john, i have a stihl fs 80 its about 8 years old, and when it gets hot it plays up and is hard to get running properly the crank seals are new the carby has just been completely redone, the cylinder appearres to be healthy.any help would be grateful.thankyou.

Answer
Hello Alistair:

From your Description, it Sounds like the Rings May Need Replacing. As the Engine Heats Up the Cylinder Expands. The Rings will Expand with the Cylinder Until the Have Reached Maximum. If the Rings or Cylinder are Worn; when the Cylinder Expands to a Point the Rings Stop Expanding and the Engine Slowly Loses Compression. You have Power Loss and Hard to Near Impossible to Start Engine when this Happens. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
