Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Jacobsen Homelite, 6 digits, 4 digits

Question
Hi, Have old rear engine ride on mower with B&S 10hp model 256707 0109-01. Has electrical wire from motor, by starter, with ceramic type block(50mm long 20mm square) in line, something to do with charging? Wire broken in block. Can you tell me what to replace with if possible? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello John:

The Component you are Describing Sounds like the Resister Block for the Stator (Voltage Regulator). The Briggs PN is 491546. The Replacement Regulator May be Square and Enclosed in a Plastic Housing. The Resister Block (the Style you Described is No Longer Used). If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck

Hello Again John:

I forgot; You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers (first 4 digits Only). Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. Thanks Again.
