Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Snowblower impeller wont turn, craftsman snowblower, shear pins

Question
My craftsman snowblower, model # 536 887 250 has a impeller that will not spin. I located a diagram of parts and it looks as if the spring pis are not in place. My question is: how difficult is it to replace these pins. I am familiar with shear pins as I have a gravel driveway and break them occasionally but I did not know about the spring pins.
Thanx for any help you can give.

John

Answer
Hello John:

The Spring Pins are like Shear Pins and Roll Pins. They are Designed to Close a Small Amount when Hammered Into the Holes of the Shaft and Auger for a Tight Fit. A Drift Punch (Round with Flat Tip) is Used to Punch the Old Spring Pin Out and then a New Pin is Hammered Into the Holes of the Auger and the Shaft. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
