Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Primer bulb in snowblowers, toro 521, 6 digits

Question
I have a 1984 Toro 521 snowthrower with a Tecumseh 5 hp engine model 38052 and I am curious as to how the primer bulb works. It seems that the bulb is not the easiest thing to change on this thrower. My thrower has worked once this season ( about 3 weeks ago ) however with the recent snow I cannot get it running. I replaced the spark plug and in the process of draining gas from the bowl I noticed the primer line attached to the carb had a hole in it. I removed it trimmed it up and pushed the primer bulb to see if any gas came out. After many pushes a tiny amount may have come out but not as I expected. I replaced the hose and still cannot get the engine started. It seems gas may be my problem.Any hints

Answer
Hello Robert:

If the Primer Bulb is Bad, then the Carburetor Needs to be Soaked and Rebuilt. The 521 is the Series Model of the Snow Thrower and the 38052 is the Engine Specification Number. The Toro Model Numbers are 4, 5, or 6 Digits and the Tecumseh Numbers should be Similar to these Numbers; LV30-38052, HS50-38052. Send me the Model and Type/Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Thanks.
