Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): i need your help, stroke engine, bottom piece

Question
Hi Ben..Thank you for being an expert and for helping people like us with small engine repairs.I have a four stroke engine, and it is a horizontal.I am trying to tear it apart to look and see how things work on the inside.I know the the head and the crankcase is  all one piece but the bottom cover  has bolts and i removed them.I can get this bottom part to move  or separate about a half  inch from the crankcase ,it will not move past this point, no matter how hard i try..Could this bottom piece be pressed in place  over the taper end by a machine? And the other end the power take off, could this be pressed in place by a machine?I look and i see no other bolts or screws, that will prevent me from tearing this apart. How can i take this a part?I really want to take a close look inside.
Thank You Ben

When you try to separate the case you need to have the crank pressed out you can do this your self make sure that the bolts for the case are all out next you just need to pry on the case off the crank as it is a tapered fit as you go towards the smaller end it will eventually come off. Good Luck
