Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper Transmission, resivour, small reservoir

I have an approx 5 years old snapper hydrostatic transmission. riding mower ( like a model LT145). The transmission is slipping or is driving the mower very slowly. I removed the back seat and there is a small reservoir ( The top is a small stopper). Can I put in transmission fluid or any other ideas?

Fill the Resivour with SAE 30 Engine Oil. These Hydrostatic/Hydromatic Transaxles Engine Oil Not Hydraulic Oil or Transmission Oil. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
