Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Noma Snowblower repair, friction wheel, bearing retainer

Question
QUESTION: Hi: purchased used NOMA 10 horse snowblower (Circa 1999), the friction wheel was adjusted incorrectly, destroying small drive gear on jackshaft. My question is this, how do I get to the jackshaft to replace it? The two bolts for the bearing are located under the friction plate, I can get to the one, but the other is not reachable.  It appears the jackshaft assembly is installed prior to the friction assembly.

Do I need to remove the friction plate? If so, is there an easy way to do so?
Thank you,
 Eric

QUESTION: John:
It is a NOMA (by Murray) 627104x8 code 7218, serial #S001095760823 (if it helps).  Also what repair manual is there available for this?

Answer
Hello Again Eric:

I Did Not Locate a Model 627104X8; but I Did Locate a 627104X30B Model. Please Look at this Model and See if it is Close to yours. Go to this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Murray) and Enter the Model Numbers (627104X30B). Then Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View. The Breakdown Shows How the Unit is Assemblied. You May Require a Puller and Heat to Remove the Friction Plate to Remove the Bearing Retainer to Remove the Shaft. Tomorrow I Will Contact Some of the Outlets I Use for Manuals and See if Any have the Owners and Service Manuals for your Model. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
