Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): no spark, spark model, vise grips

Question
model #el5v590s kohler engine. i have replaced module "ingention coil" . with the spark plug out of the engine held with vise grips and a good ground no spark with engine turning bye starter. what other problems should i look for

also what is the resistance of ingnition coil from frame to kill terminal to spark plug lead

Answer
Hello Paul:

The Coil is Gapped .020in from the Flywheel. Disconnect the Coil Shut Off Wire. Check for Fire. If No Fire, then the Coil should have Markings that Say This Side Up. If This Side Up is Showing and the Coil is Not Firing, then Place the This Side Up, Down and Check for Fire at the Plug. I Just had the Same Problem Last Week and the Mechanic Replaced 5 Brand New Coils before he Found the Problem. He then Turned All the Coils Upside Down and they All Worked. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
