Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tension spring, tension spring, govenor

Question
QUESTION: Thankyou very much for info. Unfortunity Iam not that brite in mech.stuff. I got lingage rod from govenor to throttle back in hole where the hole showed previous wear. The tension spring on throttle where one end is l-shaped is resting between piece with holes on both sides. Where rod from govenor to throttle went. It is very loose. Does it also go into one of the holes where linkage from govenor went. Reason for this problem is because I had to order a new throttle unit. Thankx Mike

ANSWER: Hi Mike:

No Worries. I am Here as Long as Needed. If the Spring you are Asking About is the Spring that is Wrapped Around the Solid Link, then it Hooks Into the Same Hole the Link is Connected to at the Carburetor and the Governor Arm. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, then I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: Here Iam again & hopefully the last time Ok, I have linage from gov. back to throttle cable into the previous hole on throttle bracket. Now @ this email address. www.smallengines.com/tecgovpics.html has on second picture dwn, What my throttle bracket looks like. I see & have one end of the tension spring on throttle bracket in the pivot hole. But not sure where the other end of spring goes too. You have been so good to me by being so good helping me. It is very refreshing to have someone who puts up with someone who has a hard time understanding certain things.

ANSWER: Hi Again Mike:

Ask as Many Questions as you Like. I am here to Assist you All I can. The Site Addy was Not a Good Addy. I Keep Getting Page Not Avaliable. If you have the Spring Hooked Into the Pivot of the Throttle Bracket, then the Other End Hooks to the Governor Arm Usually at the Lowest Hole on the Arm. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: There are two linkage rods going from a arm on I would guess is the govenor. One rod goes to the carb, the other to the throttle bracket where I put the one you told me to put where hole was worn. There are eight holes on the throttle bracket with a open groove between piece with 8 holes. Thankx again.

Answer
Hi Mike:

Is One of the Linkage Rod U Shaped on 1 End? This is the Choke Link. It Sets in the Slot of the Throttle Bracket and is Activated when the Throttle Bracket Pivot is Moved Into the Choke Position by the Throttle Cable. This Link Hooks Into the Choke Shaft at the Carburetor and the U Shaped End Rests in the Slot of the Throttle Bracket. The Linkage that has the Offset L on Both Ends Goes from the Carburetor Throttle Control Shaft to the Governor. The Throttle Control Spring is the Spring that Connects from the Pivot to the Governor Arm. We will get it so you Understand the Connections. Sometimes it Just takes a Little Longer to Understand the Set Up with No Pictures. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
